FOR THE COLONIES.
Mr. Scott was referred to me for examination in September last in reference to his fitness for resuming his duties as Police Inspector at thing Kong. Although he was there thin and somewhat feeble and showed some traces of
pleurisy from which he suffered in The Colony, I saw no suffecent grounds for recommending extension of leave.

Before his leave expired he was

seized with another pleurete attack of a very Severe character. On this fact having been brought to my
noties by the medical man attending him I immediately communicated what I had heard of his state to
